I just discovered the "show details" button on my google reader, and I decided to put together a comprehensive (I honestly did not realize I followed so many blogs!), quasi-scientific (it kind of looks like a histogram if you tilt your head a bit) profile of the blogs I subscribe to and enjoy.
ones: my friends (Ashli, Brittany, Cindy, and Marie), my blog (5 subscribers!)
tens: Cantabrigia, Cycling Silk, Formaggio's Cheese Blog, Old Tom Foolery, second coat design, The Academic Vagrant (also my friend, but with 13 followers!)
hundreds: Conversation Pieces, Raising Foodies, ruffling feathers, Simply Bike, Wonder-Tonic
thousands: blushing ambition, Copy Cat Chic, hipster puppies, inchmark journal, kjerstis lykke, needled, What Would a Nerd Wear, you are my fave
tens of thousands: A Cup of Jo, My Milk Toof, Stuff White People Like, the purl bee
hundreds of thousands: smitten kitchen
(I don't read any blog with a million followers. It took a few minutes to find such a thing - the closest I've come up with is The New York Times. Does that count?)
I like that my google reader reflects the characteristics I value and activities I love - food, style, friends and family, design, bikes, crafts, intelligence, and humor. And I didn't expectt SK to be the most popular, but it makes sense: yummy food, beautiful photography, personal anecdotes, humor, and original content. If I had to give up all blogs except for one, I would keep SK. (But please don't make me!)

What? If you had to keep one, it wouldn't be mine? You know, the one I update 3 times a year? ha ha. We are obsessed with blogs...mostly I follow friends, but I also love Cake Wrecks, Hip2Save, Freebies2Deals, and MelsKitchenCafe. Mine are mostly practical...Caleb follows some really funny ones, but I can't remember their names! You should ask him sometime
